Big Cottonwood Canyon was an easy choice for this session because, within a short walk, you have a variety of backdrops, tall and short pine trees, layered mountains, and, eventually, tall grass. It was partly cloudy, but the clouds cleared thirty minutes into the session, and the sun peaked over the mountains. We had 20 minutes of light, which made all the difference in the world. Abby's outfits were perfect; neutral colors with multiple layers and different textures. My favorite was the way her long sleeve sheer shirt caught the light. To help bring these two into focus, I shot the first half of this session on my 85mm. And once we had lost the sunlight, I switched to my 24-70mm, and we headed over to the tall grass and captured more of these two’s love.
